John Henry Holliday, better known as Doc Holliday, (1851-1887) was a dentist, gambler, and gunfighter from Georgia. He is best known for his role in the 1881 gunfight at the O.K. Corral in Tombstone, Arizona. Holliday was a close friend of lawman Wyatt Earp and was deputized by him. Holliday became a folk legend after the gunfight and settled in Dallas, Texas, where he became a full-time faro dealer.
